Job Summary

In this role, you will support heavy civil projects in Southern Nevada by assisting the Construction Manager and supervising inspection staff. You will perform moderate-to-increased complexity inspections, verify compliance with codes, standards, and permits, and interpret plans and specifications. You’ll analyze site data, review load calculations and change orders, calculate contractor payments, and produce clear written and oral technical reports to support progress and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Construction Manager in delivering heavy civil projects through Southern Nevada.
•Supervise inspection staff and perform initial, follow-up, and final comprehensive inspections for moderate to increased complexity/scope.
•Collect, compile, and analyze inspection data from site work, plans/blueprints/schematics, technical drawings, and material sampling; document findings.
•Verify load calculations, change orders, and interpretation of contract plans and specifications; resolve plan interpretation differences.
•Produce written and oral technical reports, calculate contractor payments due, support risk identification and mitigation, and attend pre-construction meetings to coordinate inspections.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum of 9 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
•Familiarity with CCPW and NDOT specifications and construction requirements.
•Advanced knowledge of construction inspection principles and relevant construction codes, regulations, and compliance record-keeping requirements.
•Ability to perform technical computations and calculations, write technical reports, and hold a valid state driver’s license (pass Motor Vehicle screening).
