•Create cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities for project bidding support.
•Develop detailed scope and estimates based on design-build scope or plans/specifications used for competitive bidding.
•Produce detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and points list.
•Perform equipment take-offs and pricing to ensure accurate quantities, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
•Hold pre-bid meetings, identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, and optimize job costs through negotiations and bid-cycle cost variation reviews.

Key Requirements

•3-5 years of estimating, engineering, or construction management experience with an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; or 5-7 years of controls field experience.
•Proven experience with building automation, HVAC controls, and HVAC systems.
•Strong working knowledge of construction facets including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
•Strong financial and business acumen, with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
•Must be able to prioritize tasks for tight deadlines in a high-paced environment and have a valid driver’s license (12+ months) with no major/frequent traffic violations.
