Key Responsibilities

  • •Create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, pad stacks, and 3D models in Altium with correct parameters, metadata, and revision history.
  • •Apply IPC-7351 land pattern standards, JEDEC package standards, and internal rules to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and assembly readiness (DFA) before release.
  • •Define and maintain naming conventions, component templates, parameter schemas, lifecycle states, and part-request workflows; own part introduction/approval and library audits.
  • •Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and contract manufacturers to source accurate data, resolve conflicts, and support board bring-up and DFM/DFA reviews.
  • •Maintain ECAD-to-PLM integration and identify scripting/automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and library errors.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on experience with Altium Designer and familiarity with ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro or Mentor/Xpedition.
  • •Practical knowledge of IPC land-pattern principles and DFM/DFA judgment (including IPC-A-610).
  • •Strong understanding of electronic components, datasheets, pinouts, land patterns, and PCB fabrication/assembly constraints.
  • •Experience managing component templates, naming conventions, parameter schemas, and revision/lifecycle states.
  • •Experience with PLM systems (Arena, Windchill, or similar) and ECAD-to-PLM integration; scripting (Python or Perl) is a plus.
