  • •Oversee daily shift personnel activities and execution of shift duties in the traffic operations control room.
  • •Manage and log traffic incidents in an advanced transportation management system and coordinate dispatch of incident response crews.
  • •Detect, confirm, and track equipment failures affecting control room operations, including central system, computers, CCTV cameras, and message signs.
  • •Coordinate incident information with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders; inform first responders and assist with lane closures and diversion routes.
  • •Review, update, and revise TMC SOP documents; oversee shift scheduling/attendance compliance and coordinate employee training, audits, and post-incident analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma plus 2 or more years of prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or related experience.
  • •Driver’s license in good standing.
  • •Prior experience overseeing a staff of 3 to 6 team members.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of Nebraska’s Interstate and Arterial Road Network.
  • •Basic proficiency with computer and communication systems and willingness to work 24/7/365 shifts.
