Key Responsibilities

  • •Organize and supervise execution of assigned dredging cutter suction works according to planning, budgeting, and quality/safety/environmental standards.
  • •When highest authority onboard (SDM), ensure optimal CSD utilization, coordinate daily production in line with operational capabilities, and oversee maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • •Schedule personnel and auxiliary vessels on projects to perform works as planned, and make necessary decisions to carry out work safely and in compliance with laws/regulations.
  • •Maintain overall control of CSD maintenance and operation, including crew welfare, discipline, and training; teach and guide crew in dredging techniques and deck/engine room-related activities.
  • •Track production and operational metrics (e.g., pumped cubic meters and W&T parts), implement ISM management and drills/inspections, and report defects, accidents, incidents, and near misses to relevant stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience (preferably worldwide), including at least 7.5 years on a CSD with min 1500 KW cutter power.
  • •Hold a valid statutory license issued by the flag authority for the specific onboard job and be familiar with STCW (Basic and Manila amendments).
  • •Demonstrated experience in high-performance driven CSD operations with full understanding of CSD parts, working principles, and limitations.
  • •Proven leadership capabilities to motivate the crew and communicate clearly, with experience in preventive maintenance and regular inspection of W&T parts.
  • •Experience with ISM and PTW, including safety committee/pre-start meeting experience; risk assessment/PTW familiarity and ability to interpret loggings and adjust working methods accordingly.
