Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, including substations and collection/transmission systems.
  • •Read schematics and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with variable pitch/variable speed control systems.
  • •Perform mechanical and electrical repair or replacement of components to correct malfunctions per manufacturer requirements.
  • •Complete preventive maintenance according to OEM maintenance manuals and follow project environmental health and safety programs.
  • •Perform data collection and reporting for wind plant requirements, including retrofits/design modifications and QA/QC documentation (and support construction/commissioning walk-downs when applicable).

Key Requirements

  • •One year of college or a technical school certificate, or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training (or equivalent education and experience), plus a high school diploma or GED.
  • •Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, infrared testers, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment tools, and hand/power tools).
  • •Advanced computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and facility control/management/reporting systems, including computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
  • •Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and lift up to 60 pounds frequently (and up to 100 pounds occasionally).
  • •Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and ability to work with electrical wires and interpret instructions (written, oral, diagrams, or schedules).
