Job Summary

Observe and monitor scrap metal deliveries to verify quality and quantity specifications while complying with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Inspect incoming shipments by truck, rail, or ship; record inspection data; identify and report issues; and support remedial procedures. Assist with daily yard/production operations, including receiving, stockpiling, and safe vehicle unloading, while supporting internal control processes and communicating with supervisors and customers.

Key Responsibilities

•Strictly adhere to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
•Inspect shipments of scrap metal received via truck, rail car, or ship to ensure materials meet specifications and are free from environmental hazards.
•Identify and record inspection data (weight, grade, content, quantity) and notify supervisors of problems encountered during inspection.
•Collaborate with the commercial department on quality and consistency of customer deliveries.
•Direct safe unloading of vehicles delivering scrap and provide backup/assistance throughout the yard as needed.
