Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor turbine and site performance in real time from the site control room using SCADA, tracking production, alarms, and faults and escalating issues.
  • •Respond to instructions to adjust production levels, including ramping and curtailment, within required timeframes.
  • •Carry out turbine shutdowns and restarts in line with site environmental permits, including SOD protocol during migratory soaring bird season.
  • •Perform site rounds and visual inspections, monitor weather and grid conditions, and report abnormal readings or safety concerns promptly.
  • •Maintain accurate shift logs and operational records, support on-site contractors with access/permits-to-work/safety, and hand over clearly to the incoming operator while escalating unresolved issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Technical or vocational qualification in electrical, mechanical, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • •GWO certification.
  • •2-4 years’ experience in wind farm operations, control room monitoring, or industrial/utility site operations (preferred).
  • •Working familiarity with SCADA systems and a basic understanding of turbine operation.
  • •Ability to work a rotating shift roster (nights, weekends, public holidays) and be based on-site at GEZ.
