Key Responsibilities

  • •Promote and maintain a safety-first approach, follow OSHA/MSHA procedures, and keep the work area safe and clean.
  • •Inspect, sample, and test materials using accepted methods for quality control and contract compliance.
  • •Ensure mix design readiness at batch plants (scale weights, water demand) and perform physical tests on ready-mix concrete and aggregates.
  • •Conduct delivery-point spot checks and on-site surveys of fleets and facilities to identify delivery problems and recommend solutions.
  • •Maintain accurate QA/QC records and databases, keep daily logs, and write job inspection reports as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum high school diploma or GED, with ability to obtain and maintain required DOT certifications to test concrete per state regulations.
  • •ACI Field Grade I Testing Technician certification and ACI Aggregate or Laboratory Certification (NRMCA certification is a plus).
  • •Experience collecting, testing, and reporting concrete and/or aggregate samples; less than one year in a related field is required.
  • •Knowledge of DOT regulations (sampling frequency/methods, graduation and quality requirements) and working knowledge of ACI, ASTM, and related standards.
  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safety and compliance requirements (including OSHA/MSHA PPE and procedures).
