Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate digging and backfilling equipment such as backhoes, trenchers/backhoes, and payloaders.
  • •Dig, level, and backfill main and service trenches using power operated equipment.
  • •Dig and backfill excavations for leak repairs and other maintenance using power operated equipment.
  • •Grade, level, and spread patch on trenches and other excavations; load and tow trailers for moving equipment.
  • •Perform minor field repairs and adjustments on vehicles/equipment, including lubricating/cleaning, assisting repairs, and checking fuel and hardware.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 49.59 - 54.34 hourly

Key Requirements

  • •Must have all qualifications of Street Technician B and perform duties in a neat, competent, workmanlike manner.
  • •Demonstrate ability to satisfactorily complete the training program for this job.
  • •Prove competent operation of Street Department vehicles and possess the appropriate Connecticut driver's license.
  • •Successfully complete Motor Vehicle Department tests for operating CDL Class A vehicles.
  • •Successfully complete the additional Street Technician A responsibilities (digging/leveling/backfilling, grading, patching, and minor equipment adjustments).
