Job Summary

Fire protection engineering consultant role in India: provide expert technical guidance on fire safety, fire prevention and life safety for internal and external clients, reviewing plans and specifications, and developing designs for fire protection systems across projects in Bengaluru and Noida with liaison to WSP UK Team.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide consulting engineering and project management for fire safety and fire system design across assigned projects, including review of drawings for compliance with local and international codes and preparation of design and authority approval drawings.
•Develop fire safety plans for evacuation, way finding, firefighting equipment, fire wall ratings and escape widths.
•Prepare rational fire designs and related tender documents, budgets and fee proposals.
•Advise architects, builders, and construction teams on fire prevention equipment, code interpretation and compliance.
•Coordinate with authorities and attend meetings with clients, architects and professionals to discuss fire safety regulations and project requirements.

Key Requirements

•Mechanical / Civils Degree from an accredited university or Fire Technology Degree from an accredited university of technology in fire safety.
•5-8 years' experience in Fire Engineering; Consulting Engineering experience would be advantageous.
•Knowledge and experience in local fire safety codes and international codes (BS/British Standards, Euro Code, NFPA, etc.) for code-compliant fire safety designs.
•Ability to carry out rational fire designs using multiple international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, BS 9999, BS 7974).
•Experience in consulting engineering and project management for fire safety and fire system design, including drawings reviews and authority approvals.
