Key Responsibilities

•Monitor and assess the performance of Chemistry/Environmental/Radiation Protection/Radwaste programs to ensure regulatory compliance and achievement of performance measures.
•Assess program quality versus industry best practices and develop recommendations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, or safety.
•Investigate technical problems by evaluating collected data, determining causes, and recommending solutions.
•Maintain awareness of nuclear industry standards and represent the department/Fermi 2 on task forces or committees as assigned.
•Maintain technical expertise through training and professional development, and provide technical consulting and special reports as needed.

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree.
•Eight years of direct involvement in Radiation Protection/Health Physics or Environmental Health/Chemistry (or four years with specialized training and related licenses or certifications).
•Training and/or education in Radiation Protection, Health Physics, Environmental Health, or Chemistry, including cause analysis/problem solving, human performance techniques, self-assessment, and continuous improvement.
•Six years of work experience in the nuclear industry (or ten years without a degree).
•Ability to work independently across multiple tasks and provide technical consulting to personnel at all levels.
