Job Summary

Research and deliver detailed land ownership information for major highway, rail, energy and water infrastructure projects. Gather data from land registry records and Ordnance Survey maps, manage legal land interests in databases and GIS, and liaise with landowners to notify, gain access, and support compensation. Collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists and planners, contribute to bid/tender writing, and help secure land rights through statutory consenting processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake land referencing activities, researching legal land interests and rights using Land Registry/Property Registration Authority, desktop research, questionnaire analysis, archival investigations, and GIS/database management.
•Review affected landowners and parties whose property or rights are impacted by development and infrastructure delivery.
•Negotiate access to land to enable surveys and support land access and land acquisition projects through consultation and property valuation.
•Assess and negotiate compensation and support land rights acquisition and heads of terms through relevant statutory processes (e.g., Vesting Order, CPO, TWAO, Hybrid Bill, DCO).
•Provide project support by preparing for and attending meetings, supporting bid/tender writing, and contributing to reporting and risk management.

Key Requirements

•A degree in geography or another relevant discipline with understanding of land-use and/or landownership complexities in Ireland/UK.
•Experience with landowner engagement or working with members of the public.
•Understanding of land referencing and/or the land acquisition process, including researching and identifying landowners/occupiers and land interests and rights (desirable).
•Ability to work under tight timeframes and manage tasks independently across multiple projects.
•Comfort reading and using maps in a technical way, with excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills.
