Key Responsibilities

  • •Design roadway, traffic, and drainage deliverables for alternative delivery transportation projects, including mega-projects.
  • •Develop highway improvement design packages, including calculations (e.g., superelevation, sight distances, acceleration/deceleration lanes).
  • •Create MOT design components such as cross sections, traffic control plans, typical cross sections, temporary signing, pavement markings, and detour routes.
  • •Prepare traffic design work such as interstate design and interchange elements, including signing/pavement markings and traffic signal design.
  • •Perform technical highway drainage design including storm drain design, culvert analysis, hydrology, ditch design, bridge deck drainage, temporary drainage, and stormwater quantity control.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Engineering (or demonstrated equivalency) for Junior/Mid/Senior roles, with level-specific related experience (2, 6, or 10 years respectively).
  • •BS Degree or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience for CAD Designer roles.
  • •Experience with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads for roadway, traffic, and/or drainage deliverables.
  • •Experience or interest developing highway improvement design packages and applying roadway design calculations (e.g., SSD/DSD, superelevation, acceleration/deceleration lanes).
  • •Preferred: EIT Certification or PE License.
