Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in the design, analysis, and supervision of tailings dam projects, embankments and related structures.
  • •Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, liquefaction and settlements.
  • •Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies for mining residue facilities focusing on infiltration, slope stability, liquefaction and water management.
  • •Prepare and review technical reports, drawings and specifications to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
  • •Ensure all projects meet or exceed regulatory requirements, industry best practices and sustainability objectives.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 90,000 - 110,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field
  • •Minimum 4 years of geotechnical engineering experience with strong expertise in design and management of mining tailings dams
  • •Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or eligible for licensure within 3 months
  • •Experience as Deputy Engineer of Record for at least 2 tailings dams
  • •Proficiency with design software for embankments and tailings dams; experience with numerical modelling tools
