Key Responsibilities

  • •Schedule theatre cases correctly to ensure optimal utilisation of theatres as per hospital requirements.
  • •Distribute theatre lists timeously to all relevant parties according to the Patient Administration Manual.
  • •Load all bookings and theatre cases and allocate wards to ensure optimal utilisation of available beds.
  • •Allocate theatre time for patient bookings and transfer theatre schedule information accurately.
  • •Apply clinical codes up to level 1 to identify the appropriate code describing the procedure performed.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • •Experience working with computers.
  • •Experience with theatre/ICU scheduling in a private health care facility.
  • •Knowledge of AS400 and ICD/CPT coding up to level 1 in a private health care facility.
  • •Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and ability to allocate theatre time and transfer theatre schedule information.
