Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws and transport loads safely and on time while following all traffic and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Load and unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when needed, and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain delivery documentation (invoices and shipping bills of lading) and deliver paperwork to the shipping office or appropriate staff after route completion.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a Commercial Drivers License (Class A CDL) (or chauffeur’s license depending on state) appropriate for the vehicle weight to be operated.
  • •Pass background and drug testing required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, including a 10-panel drug screen for this safety-sensitive role.
  • •Pass a DOT physical and be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills to speak professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Meet physical requirements, including prolonged periods sitting, lifting/moving up to 40 pounds, and being able to travel frequently.
