Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and lead the DefenseOS engineering organization; hire, structure, and grow a multi-disciplinary team and develop technical leads.
  • •Own technical strategy and roadmap across WarshipOS pillars: zonal compute, data transport/API/SDK, AI/ML perception and fusion, and SIL/HIL with a digital twin.
  • •Lead the zonal architecture by designing and deploying location-based zone controllers and centralized compute and their interfaces to combat, C4I, and HM&E systems.
  • •Stand up the software and data platform by directing middleware, APIs, and SDKs that unify sensor/mission data behind a common data plane across classification levels.
  • •Set engineering best practices (architecture, code review, CI/CD, automated and hardware-in-the-loop test, performance and quality metrics) and lead release execution against milestones.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years in software and systems engineering with 6+ years leading engineering teams, including managing other managers and technical leads.
  • •Experience shipping complex software platforms integrating real-time, mission- or safety-critical systems using middleware, data transport, and APIs/SDKs.
  • •Fluency across hardware and software systems (compute architecture, sensor/system integration, lab-to-platform test) to set direction for EE/hardware and integration leads.
  • •Experience integrating modern compute with legacy, closed subsystems via gateways, adapters, and abstraction layers into a unified data plane.
  • •Ability to deliver under reliability, latency, safety, and field-readiness constraints across the full lifecycle from requirements through sustainment.
