Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and undertake standalone hydrological studies and support 1D–2D hydraulic modelling commissions to assess fluvial and surface water flooding.
  • •Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs), and surface water drainage strategies incorporating SuDS and environmental statements.
  • •Undertake quality assurance of technical work within your area of expertise.
  • •Nurture and develop graduate team members and junior colleagues through mentorship.
  • •Manage client relationships by clarifying expectations, success criteria and outcome measures; assist with bids and proposals.

Key Requirements

  • •Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • •Extensive practical experience applying hydrological methods, including FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP for flow estimation.
  • •Extensive experience using GIS software including QGIS, ArcGIS and MapInfo.
  • •Proven experience producing hydrological estimation reporting deliverables and undertaking QA reviews of hydrological estimation work.
  • •Experience leading flood risk and water management projects, including client/regulator liaison and support for tenders/proposals.
