Job Summary

Repair and maintain heavy construction and mechanical equipment across job sites, troubleshooting issues and making durable, economical repairs. Disassemble equipment to remove defective parts, service vehicles with oil changes and preventative maintenance, and diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems as well as diesel/gas engines and transmissions. Handle parts ordering and basic job documentation, and perform testing and repairs including welding while maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

•Repairs and maintains construction and mechanical equipment such as trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, bulldozers, engines, and motors.
•Troubleshoots problems and makes economical, durable repairs, including diagnosing electrical and hydraulic systems and drivetrain components.
•Services vehicles and equipment with oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
•Disassembles devices to access and remove defective parts, adjusts functional parts and control instruments, replaces defective parts, and installs special functional and structural parts.
•Orders parts and supplies, maintains purchase orders and invoices, operates a computer for job functions, and starts devices to test performance while keeping the work area clean and organized.
