Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead, manage, and develop a team of platform and backend engineers; own platform execution and delivery.
  • •Set priorities, break down ambiguous work, run technical planning and design/engineering reviews, and identify execution risks early.
  • •Design and build production backend and platform systems; review architecture, code, and infrastructure changes.
  • •Own reliability, scalability, and performance of the backend platform, including observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • •Partner with ML to productionize AI capabilities and build infrastructure for model inference, evaluation, experimentation, and data processing.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on backend work.
  • •Previous experience directly managing a software engineering team and coaching engineers to raise the technical bar.
  • •Deep experience designing and operating distributed backend systems with strong system design and architecture skills.
  • •Experience building production systems on AWS (or another major cloud platform) and owning systems with meaningful scale, reliability, and availability requirements.
  • •Strong understanding of databases, APIs, asynchronous systems, queues, caching, and distributed architectures; experience with observability, deployment, and production operations.
