Job Summary

Lead the day-to-day operation and technical performance of one of Canada’s largest copper concentrators, supervising the mill inside Operations, Metallurgy, Process Control, and Technical teams. Drive safe, reliable, efficient grinding, flotation, leaching, filtration, concentrate handling, and optimization to meet production and cost targets. Use operational data and KPIs for continuous improvement, mentor future leaders, and partner with maintenance and site teams to strengthen overall Highland Valley Copper performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Champion a visible, values-based safety culture and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
•Lead the Mill Operations, Metallurgy, Process Control and Technical teams, building accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
•Optimize throughput, recovery, concentrate quality, plant stability, and operating costs to safely deliver production commitments.
•Drive daily operational decision-making across grinding, flotation, leaching, filtration, concentrate handling, and processing circuits.
•Mentor leaders through coaching, feedback, succession planning, and support major shutdowns, projects, and commissioning readiness.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 164,000 - 202,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Extensive operational leadership experience within a large base metal concentrator.
•Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in mineral processing, preferably in a unionized mining environment.
•Demonstrated success leading both operations and technical teams in a large-scale processing facility.
•Experience leading operations through construction, commissioning, ramp-up, or operation of large mineral processing plants (asset).
•Preferred: degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Engineering or related discipline; engineering degree candidates must be registered/eligible to register as a P. Eng. with EGBC.
