Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical support for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • •Write proposals including timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
  • •Provide technical input throughout project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation activities.
  • •Own assigned design activities such as modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag-tension calculations, loading, clearance reports, and conductor/insulator selection.
  • •Lead feasibility studies and technical studies to define preferred solutions/layouts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Experience delivering transmission system operator projects for organisations such as National Grid, SSE, and SPT, aligned to their standards (CDAE accreditation highly advantageous).
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
