Job Summary

Manage AI engineering teams building agent-based AI services and conversational/voice AI that integrate with digital insurance products. Own people management, hiring, performance, resourcing, and delivery leadership across two delivery surfaces: API-consumed agent services and customer/operational voice experiences. Partner with peer Engineering Managers and AI governance forums to ensure compliant, ethical AI service rollouts, and coordinate with backend and frontend leadership on production consumption and AI-driven UX patterns.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and grow AI teams, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and 1:1s.
•Balance capacity and coordinate planning across agent and voice delivery surfaces based on domain team demand.
•Coach technical leads and support consistent standards in prompt engineering, agent design, NLU/NLP, and voice flow design.
•Run AI governance-compliance reviews with the AI Governance Review forum, including model choices, data handling, bias review, and compliance attestations.
•Coordinate AI service rollout change windows through the CAB and align production consumption with backend leadership and AI-driven UX patterns with frontend leadership.

Key Requirements

•8+ years engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a people-management role leading applied AI, ML, or conversational AI delivery teams.
•Track record managing 6 to 15 engineers across at least two teams or specialisations.
•Strong technical literacy in the AI stack to mentor and challenge senior technical leads.
•Experience with LLM-based agent systems, including prompt engineering, agent design patterns, evaluation, and retrieval augmentation.
•Production deployment of AI services on Kubernetes, including API design and observability with latency and cost control.
