Job Summary

Provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of employment matters to Box’s People & Communities team, supporting global workforce in a fast-paced environment. Lead investigations, policy development, and compliance with US employment laws while collaborating with cross-functional partners and outside counsel to manage pre-litigation matters and privacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide strategic advice and counsel to the People & Communities team on a broad range of employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, corrective actions, terminations, benefits, leaves of absence, accommodations, compensation, contingent workers, HR policies, and performance management
•Provide pragmatic advice to the business on US employment obligations with ability to advise other geographic areas
•Provide legal advice on employee-related AI initiatives
•Assist with creation of policies, standards and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (including health and safety)
•Draft and review employment offers, agreements, policies, etc.

Key Requirements

•JD degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (CA, NY, IL or TX preferred)
•6+ years of experience in employment law
•Significant experience advising Employee Relations on investigations of employee complaints (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, policy violations)
•Experience at a reputable law firm (in-house or secondment experience preferred)
•Experience with California employment law or willingness to learn
