Key Responsibilities

•Lead the SBEX frontend team to deliver high-quality software and improve Xero's front end competitiveness.
•Coach and develop engineers, focusing on performance, inclusivity, and high-trust team culture.
•Define and execute engineering plans aligned with business goals, balancing speed and quality.
•Own architectural decisions for frontend systems, including deployment, observability, and error handling.
•Collaborate with Product and Design to establish standards and drive platform adoption to enhance developer experience.

Key Requirements

•Strong hands-on experience building complex web applications using modern frontend stack such as React and TypeScript.
•Track record of owning cross-cutting frontend work (design systems, shared UI libraries, or frontend pipelines).
•Proven ability to coach and develop engineers, with experience in performance management and building inclusive, high-trust teams.
•High fluency in frontend system architecture, including deployment trade-offs, observability, and error handling.
•Excellent communication skills, able to influence across disciplines and drive platform adoption to improve developer experience.
