Drive and operate Lakebase Manager (LBM)’s central control plane, owning core logic for database lifecycle at scale, including creation/deletion and compute hot standby with HA failover. Lead technically as an individual contributor: set architecture direction, write code on the hardest components, uphold high reliability standards through reviews and testing, and define SLIs/SLOs to improve long-term resilience across the database lifecycle.

•Drive architecture and design and write code on the hardest parts of key projects.
•Set and uphold high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and a culture of engineering excellence.
•Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical bar in distributed-systems design and execution.
•Define SLIs, meet SLOs, and lead long-term reliability improvements across the database lifecycle.

Salary: USD 182,400 - 247,000

Key Requirements

•8+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, including testing, monitoring, and SLIs/SLOs processes.
•Track record of technical leadership as an individual contributor, setting architecture and direction without formal management authority.
•Strong hands-on depth designing systems and writing production code for large-scale distributed services.
•Experience operating reliability-critical, highly available services, including on-call, incident response, and HA/failover.
•BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.
