Key Responsibilities

•Assist with all aspects of production, from editing VOs for the broadcast, to coordinating graphics, to video producing.
•Pitch and produce; Nightly News Associate Producers are expected to pitch stories and then develop, produce, and sometimes write the pieces for air on the broadcast.
•Assist producers and senior producers in the development of stories – booking, pre-interviewing, and element-gathering.
•Train and work toward owning day-of producing: AP’s will train with producers to learn day-of package producing skills, how to gather, coordinate editorial and own all aspects of a day-of news piece.
•Collaborate with editors, graphic teams, and desk editors to ensure timely delivery of segments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 75,000 - 90,000 annually

•At least 5 years of editorial experience in network or cable production (evening television preferred).
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
•Shooting and desktop editing skills, and preliminary package producing skills required.

•Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours, including breaking news, nights, holidays, and weekends.
