Key Responsibilities

  • •Marshal and administer assets in small-to-medium probate estates and taxable trusts.
  • •Decide substantive estate matters including tax elections, reserves, disposition and valuation/collection of assets, raising cash, resolving liabilities, and handling audits and litigation.
  • •Oversee estate tax compliance: coordinate with internal and outside parties to determine tax reporting approach, enable preparation of required tax returns, and approve/sign filings and pertinent court documents.
  • •Advise investment division on cash requirements and beneficiaries’ investment objectives; ensure fiduciary requirements and investment restrictions are followed during settlement.
  • •Plan, review, and implement fundings and distributions; coordinate technical tax, investment, and legal issues, manage beneficiary communications, and support relationship-building for expanded business opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5 years of experience in estate administration or personal trust, with exposure to legal, tax, investment, and operational elements.
  • •Knowledge of estate planning and tax laws, trust and fiduciary income, investments, real estate, basic accounting, trust operations, and current field issues.
  • •Ability to translate complex client problems into concrete estate account situations when processes are not established.
  • •Analytical and organizational skills to manage estate settlement activities and reporting.
  • •Negotiating skills to mediate conflict and resolve estate issues.
