Job Summary

Lead geochemical mine water projects by delivering technical leadership for water-rock interaction studies that support the prediction, prevention, and management of metal leaching and acid rock drainage. Direct project portfolio work across UK/Ireland and international assignments, manage proposals, cost estimates, and client relationships, and mentor multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers. Drive business development activities, contribute to global technical practice groups, and help elevate technical excellence across WSP.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical expertise to multidisciplinary teams on mine water geochemistry projects, including permitting, baseline studies, engineering studies, operational support, and closure.
•Collaborate across the Mining Team to strategise and implement business objectives.
•Manage projects end-to-end: draft proposals and cost estimates, manage client liaison, financials/invoices, closure, and client feedback (with project management support).
•Lead and mentor scientists and engineers within the Mine Water team to build technical expertise and commercial awareness.
•Drive business development through proposal/bid preparation, marketing activities, and supporting participation in tradeshow and conferences; participate in global technical practice groups.

Key Requirements

•Substantial and broad experience in mine water geochemistry, including delivery across large, multi-disciplinary projects.
•An advanced degree (MSc or Ph.D) or equivalent in geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, applied or environmental geology/chemistry.
•Demonstrated technical leadership, collaboration, and delivery, with a proven track record in management and contribution to complex projects.
•Established reputation for work winning and repeat business, with commitment to internal and external client service.
•Strong communication and writing skills, including English proficiency (verbal and written); second language (French or Spanish) valued.
