Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical expertise to deliver permitting, baseline, engineering, operational support, and closure studies focused on mining (with opportunities in other industries).
  • •Collaborate across the Mining Team and business to strategise and implement business objectives.
  • •Manage projects end-to-end, including drafting proposals and cost estimates, client liaison, financial management, invoices, project closure, and client feedback (with project management support).
  • •Lead, mentor, and work with scientists, engineers, and other professionals within the Mine Water team to grow technical expertise and commercial awareness.
  • •Drive business development through bid/proposal preparation, marketing activities, and supporting participation in tradeshow and conferences, including maintaining client relationships.
  • •Ensure business-related travel in the UK/Ireland and overseas based on project needs.
  • •Model health, safety, and wellbeing awareness and align actions with equality policy and the code of conduct.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree (MSc or Ph.D) or equivalent in geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, applied, or environmental geology/chemistry.
  • •Substantial, broad experience in mine water geochemistry and knowledge of national and international geochemical best-practice guidelines and regulations.
  • •Demonstrated technical leadership, collaboration, and delivery, including a proven track record managing and contributing to large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • •Strong written communication skills for technical reports and proposals, with required English proficiency (French or Spanish valued).
  • •Professional registration (or working towards it) and a commitment to Continuous Professional Development and client service.
