Defend GEICO in New Jersey courts and provide first-party insurance defense support as part of Staff Counsel. You will research law, draft briefs, opinions, and memoranda, and render liability/damages/value opinions for the Claims Department. Handle pleadings, motions, and discovery including depositions and sworn examinations, and defend matters through trial or dispositive hearings as assigned. Must maintain NJ Bar eligibility and be able to travel for proceedings.

Salary: USD 118,900 - 186,550 annually

Key Requirements

•2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury (required).
•Juris Doctor (JD) degree (required).
•Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required).
•Maintain good standing and meet licensing requirements, including mandatory CLE where applicable.
•Be able to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, meetings, and conferences.
