Job Summary

Lead the creation and conversion of complex new business opportunities for the Air sector within Optronics & Missile Electronics, including account management for Defensive Aid Systems. Own the strategic opportunity pipeline from identification through deal closure, develop win strategies, and support bid teams to deliver compelling proposals. Collaborate with Air Sales leadership, business sector, strategy, product line, and operations teams to drive European/Nordic growth and sustainable profitable orders, with significant UK and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the creation, identification, development, and closure of complex new business opportunities in the Air sector, including account management responsibilities for Defensive Aid Systems.
•Develop and evolve the opportunity pipeline and lead in-year growth delivery while ensuring achievement of growth KPIs.
•Create compelling win strategies, communicate them to cross-functional/global stakeholders, and lead/support bid teams to produce competitive proposals.
•Take full ownership of converting opportunities into profitable orders aligned with market data, product policies, and the strategic business plan.
•Manage key client and stakeholder relationships at all levels and represent the business/products at internal/external events to support growth plans.

Key Requirements

•Proven leadership experience in large organisations handling complex bids and programmes.
•A proven track record delivering profitable business growth.
•Demonstrable sales experience (e.g., Shipley methodologies) or a senior position in the Defence Sector, with direct experience of UK MoD organisational structure and defence procurement/programme and/or commercial activities, including export processes.
•Experience selling complex defence equipment and systems globally, with Defence procurement, programme, or commercial experience preferred.
•Ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels, developing strategic win strategies and networking to consistently win new business.
