Key Responsibilities

  • •Design low voltage reticulation and distribution systems (230/400V) including UPS sources.
  • •Design general and emergency lighting systems, including lighting type/source selection and use of lighting design software.
  • •Design cable management systems (trunking, tray, conduits) and prepare sizing calculations with self-checking.
  • •Model 3D MEP services (e.g., cable management, pipework, ductwork) using Bentley Microstation and AECOsim, generating 2D sections from 3D models for drawings.
  • •Supervise and verify designers/modellers work, guide assistant engineers in day-to-day electrical design activities, and ensure H&S for self and team.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Electrical Engineer.
  • •Proven experience designing railway infrastructure projects, preferably with similar responsibility level.
  • •Good working knowledge of lighting systems (general and emergency) including LED types.
  • •Experience operating AMTECH / Electrical OM software to produce low-voltage system designs, including cable types and protective devices.
  • •Understanding of BIM and working within a Common Data Environment, preferably Bentley projectwise.
