Key Responsibilities

  • •Resolve backup/recovery service disruptions and implement preventative measures.
  • •Schedule and manage backups, execute ad-hoc backup requests, monitor backups, and troubleshoot issues.
  • •Perform disaster recovery scenarios and troubleshoot replication errors.
  • •Maintain backup policies and standards, including backup environment equipment (servers, disk, tape devices).
  • •Provide vendor management and tier operational support for storage environments, delivering cost-effective solutions that meet SLAs.

Key Requirements

  • •Mandatory primary knowledge of backup tools such as VEEAM, Commvault, PPDM, and cloud backup.
  • •Strong secondary knowledge of storage (e.g., NetApp, Dell).
  • •Expertise in Veeam and Commvault backup architecture/flow including storage policy/library, media agent, upgrades, and troubleshooting failures.
  • •Knowledge of backup types such as cloud backup, file/server backup, Exchange archival, bare metal backup, database backup, virtual host backup, and system restores.
  • •Good understanding of storage architecture including zoning, capacity management, migration, and disaster recovery.
