Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate to provide oversight of complex member benefit calculations and member options with administrators.
  • •Check actuarial calculations carried out by administrators (e.g., transfer value calculations and retirement projections).
  • •Assist in the development of cashflow projection models to reflect accurate and beneficial outcomes for members.
  • •Process and check actuarial factors across a portfolio of BPA schemes.
  • •Create and maintain documented, auditable models and contribute to process notes and process improvement opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree (or equivalent) in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or Economics, and/or strong A-Level (or equivalent) Mathematics results.
  • •Strong numerical and analytical skills to interpret data, perform complex calculations, and identify anomalies.
  • •Experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze data and develop or maintain calculation models.
  • •An understanding of defined benefit pension schemes, member benefits, and retirement options; knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPAs) is advantageous.
  • •Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain clear documentation and operate with appropriate audit trails.
