Key Responsibilities

  • •As a Logging Geologist, collect rock formation samples and perform geological analysis, including written and digital lithology descriptions and digital lithology plots/logs.
  • •Review, compare, and correlate lithology with LWD data where available, and manage sample packaging, administration, and backloading.
  • •Assist with offshore SDL equipment operation and troubleshooting, and monitor and interpret drilling parameters using well monitoring data.
  • •As a Data Engineer, follow client reporting protocols, provide daily contact and reporting on rig operations, and perform maintenance and troubleshooting for offshore SDL equipment.
  • •Maintain proactive planning and reporting to SDL onshore leadership and other drilling stakeholders while following strong HSEQ practices during offshore shift work.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 4-5 years offshore experience, including at least 1-2 years as a data engineer and 1-2 years as a logging geologist (other drilling-focused offshore roles may count).
  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology or Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Computing Sciences, or Programming.
  • •Experience with advanced gas services and/or XRF or XRD is advantageous.
  • •General knowledge of computers, network principles, and software (Windows XP, Office) with basic troubleshooting ability.
  • •Highly advantageous experience with general mud logging duties, equipment, and relevant sensors.
