Job Summary

Perform functional checks and dimensional/visual inspections of commercial and military jet engine assembly components in an MRO engine center. Use power/mechanical tools, engineering drawings, and standardized inspection procedures to accept, reject, or route parts for rework or quality review. Record measurement results using fixed and variable instruments, including automated measuring machines, and complete required paperwork. Second shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–midnight.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform functional checks on engine assembly and components using power and mechanical tools.
•Conduct dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques, including surface plate or standard measuring techniques.
•Use fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines, to verify dimensions and record results.
•Accept or reject material based on inspection findings; refer parts for rework or quality review as needed.
•Complete in-line check/verification paperwork and perform mathematical computations to resolve nonconformance extent.

Key Requirements

•High school graduate or GED.
•2 years formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing.
•A&P License (preferred).
•Experience working from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to work with power systems and related equipment (preferred).
•Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles (preferred).
