Key Responsibilities

  • •Use specialist software to quantify flood risk in the present day and model changes expected from climate change.
  • •Model coastal and estuarine areas to assess impacts from different flooding sources.
  • •Verify models and tools using recorded information to validate predictive assessment results.
  • •Prepare graphical and GIS deliverables and communicate findings through technical reports.
  • •Contribute to hydrology modelling innovation and business development while supporting the modelling team and related disciplines.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in (Physical) Geography, Environmental Modelling, Civil Engineering (hydraulics/hydrology), or another hydrology/flood risk related subject.
  • •Demonstratable understanding of hydrology and fluvial systems from degree modules, ideally including a dissertation or extended essay.
  • •Strong technical report writing skills, attention to detail, and strong numeracy.
  • •Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders while maintaining focus.
  • •Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and some experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Mapinfo.
