Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide support for exploration and development by negotiating leasehold rights and drafting agreements such as purchase and sale, farm out, exploration, and joint operating agreements.
  • •Coordinate and evaluate land, commercial, and regulatory data; review record title ownership and cure title deficiencies; support orders and permits for federal or other regulatory agencies.
  • •Organize multiple concurrent land projects, prioritize deadlines, communicate effectively, and provide strategic technical recommendations to leadership.
  • •Interpret lease, contract, regulatory order, and law provisions to assess risk, maintain Land data, monitor lease obligations, and advise land analysts on lease record changes.
  • •Field inquiries from mineral owners and working interest partners; maintain stakeholder relationships and public/community relations; stay current on legal and regulatory changes and analyze market trends.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Business Administration or related discipline, or a Juris Doctorate, and/or commensurate work experience.
  • •5+ years of relevant land experience (leasing and negotiation, land transaction due diligence, contract drafting or related).
  • •Industry experience in oil and gas land matters.
  • •Preferably a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL).
  • •Certified Professional Landman (CPL) (preferred).
