Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the multi-year security technical vision and architecture strategy across Freshworks products and the shared platform, aligning engineering with the CISO organization.
  • •Define secure-by-design reference architectures, paradigms, and standards for authN/authZ, tenant isolation, data protection, secrets, and API security.
  • •Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for high-risk systems, including identity/access, connector framework, and agent runtime.
  • •Set the organization-wide left-shift and secure SDLC direction at scale (SAST/DAST/SCA/secret and IaC scanning), and operationalize paved-road frameworks and security quality gates.
  • •Serve as the top technical escalation point for severe incidents, drive systemic fixes, and shape bug bounty and responsible-disclosure strategy.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years in software engineering and/or security, with hands-on ownership of application/product security for production SaaS at enterprise scale.
  • •Serve as a Principal-level (or equivalent) individual contributor who sets technical vision and standards that outlive projects.
  • •Deep experience securing multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platforms (ideally on AWS), including tenant isolation, authN/authZ, and API security at scale.
  • •Architect and embed security into CI/CD: SAST, DAST (e.g., Snyk), SCA, secret scanning, IaC scanning, artifact repository management (e.g., Sonatype Nexus), and container/Kubernetes security.
