Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect chicks in the hatcher to ascertain quality and fitness for processing, including monitoring hatcher baskets to determine pull times and/or adjustments.
  • •Perform initial assessments around 9:00AM and additional checks every two hours using monitoring methods.
  • •Remove hatch buggies momentarily to count hatched chicks and take rectal temperatures, then calculate any required hatcher adjustments.
  • •Conduct required quality assurance (QA) checks in other areas of the hatchery.
  • •Assist maintenance and fill in other areas of the hatchery, including processing, Embrex, and sanitation.

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months for laid off or child/elder care).
  • •Ability to pass a pulmonary function and respirator fit test.
