Job Summary

Design placement, routing, and layer stackups for high-complexity 12–28 layer multilayer printed circuit boards supporting high-speed digital, analog, and RF circuitry. Maintain PCB CAD footprints and decal libraries, run DRC/CAM/DFM/DFT activities, and ensure DFM/DFT requirements and 100% DFT test point coverage. Produce and review fabrication/assembly documentation, coordinate prototypes with fabricators/manufacturers, and validate IPC and Telcordia standards using PCB CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Design placement and routing for high-complexity multilayer printed circuit boards (12–28 layers) aligned to requirements and Ciena standards.
•Collaborate with hardware designers, participate in design reviews, and provide PCB design schedule input.
•Develop and maintain PCB CAD footprints and decal libraries to Ciena standards.
•Develop PCB layer stackups and package electrical/mechanical design data, identifying missing information, schematic errors, and data inconsistencies.
•Execute DRC/CAM/DFM/DFT activities and document/review PCB design packages for fabrication and assembly before release; coordinate prototype quotations and resolve fabricator/manufacturer technical queries.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Engineering OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
•10+ years designing complex printed circuit boards.
•PCB design techniques for high-speed digital, analog, and RF circuitry, including matched length routing, controlled impedance, differential pairs, fine-pitch components (BGAs), and 12–28 layer boards (micro-vias and blind/buried vias).
•PCB design using fabrication materials including FR4, flex, rigid materials, and multiple surface finishes.
•IPC standards including IPC-7351 and Telcordia GR-78-CORE, plus manufacturing requirements for DFM and DFT mass-producible PCB designs.
