Key Responsibilities

  • •Accurately locate and mark company facilities (transmission & distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities).
  • •Read and interpret system maps to support accurate marking and records.
  • •Coordinate with company crews and outside contractors for any needed re-marking to prevent damage.
  • •Investigate natural gas facility damages and determine root causes.
  • •Maintain working relationships with area excavators and municipalities, report suspected damages, and keep accurate records/reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED plus two years of experience in natural gas, damage prevention, service, construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations.
  • •Must obtain and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and required classroom training or certifications within six months.
  • •Valid driver’s license in accordance with company standards.
  • •Ability to communicate, persuade, and influence internal/external customers with strong interpersonal skills.
  • •Proficiency using the company internet/intranet, taking/uploading digital photos for marking activities, and using systems for data entry and retrieval.
