Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute a right-sized, Agile systems engineering approach per the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) for the Thunder mission system and payloads.
  • •Support design teams with evolution of technical performance measures (TPMs) and represent systems engineering in design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, Safety Review Boards).
  • •Own and maintain functional decomposition and system architecture artifacts (e.g., Functional Decomposition, System Breakdown Structure, Product Breakdown Structure, architecture diagrams) and develop SDDs and ICDs.
  • •Champion test and evaluation planning (TEMP), shape HIL/HITL integration environments, and support surrogate testing inputs.
  • •Coordinate configuration/change management and issue triage workflows, support build/ground/flight testing, and contribute to safety and airworthiness efforts.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
  • •4+ years of systems engineering experience, including safety-critical hardware and software systems, in Defense or Aerospace (crewed aircraft, rotorcraft, EVTOL, UAS, or weapon systems).
  • •Proven systems engineering skill in eliciting requirements with end users and collaborating with design teams.
  • •Experience developing systems engineering artifacts (e.g., verification and validation plans) and understanding developmental/acceptance/operational test and evaluation.
  • •Familiarity with systems engineering software packages such as Teamcenter, JIRA, JAMA, Cameo, and/or Ansys, plus understanding relevant standards (e.g., ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD-882E).
