Job Summary

Shape pricing models and methodologies for one of the UK’s largest motor insurance portfolios. As a Principal Technical Pricing Analyst, you’ll lead model development and enhancements, prepare and apply data and techniques (including credibility), and run back-testing to adjust pricing. You’ll communicate technical delivery to stakeholders, drive innovation with new data sources, and mentor junior colleagues, supporting hybrid work from Allianz UK offices across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

•Deputise for the manager and support development of junior team members.
•Lead development, enhancement, and review of pricing models, including modelling plans, data preparation, and model creation.
•Conduct back-testing and analysis to assess model impact and propose price adjustments.
•Plan projects to ensure business objectives are understood and deliver robust technical work with clear stakeholder communication.
•Drive innovation in pricing, including managing projects to generate insight from additional data sources and sharing best practices within the team.

Key Requirements

•Solid knowledge of statistical modelling methods, in particular GLMs.
•Knowledge of machine learning techniques, in particular GBMs.
•Proven experience working with large data sources and developing pricing models.
•Good command of Advanced Excel, Python, SQL, Databricks (or similar coding languages).
•Experience of WTW’s Radar and Emblem, and ability to manage stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
