Key Responsibilities

  • •Performs the statutory financial statement preparation for assigned functions, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliation, coordinating deadlines with other departments.
  • •Researches and resolves variances in statutory statements by applying accounting techniques.
  • •Completes statutory filing requirements for assigned functions, including quarterly and annual statements and supplemental reporting, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • •Reviews information requests from insurance regulatory authorities and responds to regulatory questions.
  • •Assists with annual external audits and examinations, including preparing work papers and footnotes for the statutory financial reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • •8 or more years of accounting experience; with experience in the insurance industry preferred
  • •Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings
  • •Experience with Oracle and Essbase and Business Object Enterprise is preferred
  • •Proficient with MS Office products such as Word and Excel
