Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure superior quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for ICU patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • •Provide patient care within clinical privileges, using clinically relevant, scientifically valid standards, guidelines, and criteria.
  • •Conduct regular ward rounds and develop multidisciplinary treatment plans for complex illnesses and multi-system failure.
  • •Supervise junior staff duties and provide leadership for departmental quality improvement and performance-improvement functions.
  • •Participate in ICU on-call coverage, emergency response, ICU unit management (triage, bed allocation, discharge planning), and committees (e.g., quality improvement, infection control, Code Blue).

Key Requirements

  • •Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of required training in the relevant specialty and/or subspecialty.
  • •Saudi Board/Arab Board or American Board, Canadian Fellowship, FRCS, or an equivalent qualification.
  • •Minimum five (5) years post-qualification experience.
  • •Current valid license to practice medicine in the specialty, including registration with the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties and/or a current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia.
  • •Desirable: higher qualifications and/or additional subspecialty experience and academic affiliation.
