Job Summary

Join the Data Center GPU organization as a Platform Emulation Engineer, developing and executing pre-silicon emulation to debug critical firmware for HPC and ML products. Build and enhance functional/stress tests to improve silicon test coverage, validate features (e.g., RAS, resets, power, secure boot, virtualization), and bring up graphics and ML/AI applications. Collaborate across firmware, software, tools, validation, and apps teams; triage failures and analyze emulator/simulation data to support fast time to market.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and execute emulation infrastructure for pre-silicon activities, including CPU/GPU firmware/OS bring-up and debug using leading-edge emulators (Veloce, Zebu, Palladium).
•Develop, modify, and enhance functional/stress tests to find silicon bugs and improve silicon test coverage.
•Validate firmware features including RAS, resets, power management, secure boot, and virtualization; validate multi-socket configurations.
•Bring up the full AMD graphics software stack and ML/AI applications in emulation, collecting and interpreting results for debug and tuning.
•Triage failures and collaborate cross-team (firmware, software, diags/tools, validation, apps); research new tools/infrastructure and develop scripts/tools for parsing emulation run data.

Key Requirements

•Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical, electronics or computer engineering with 7+ years of experience.
•Solid experience working on emulation platforms such as Veloce, Zebu, or Palladium (compilation, debug, performance, and throughput tuning).
•Debugging experience in HW/SW co-debug and Hybrid Emulation environments with emulation transactors.
•Understanding of Verilog and VHDL; SystemVerilog, DPI, and UVM verification environments are a plus.
•Programming skills in C, C++, Python, Tcl, Ruby, and assembly (ARM & x86), with working knowledge of Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
