Job Summary

Join WSP’s Northeast Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering team in New York, working on high-profile transportation projects from design through construction close-out. You’ll collaborate in multi-discipline teams to develop electrical drawings and specifications, design power distribution and lighting systems (including tunnel/roadway lighting), and coordinate low-voltage systems. You’ll also support construction phase reviews, participate in client/design reviews, and stay current on electrical engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Work within multi-discipline teams to develop drawings and specification documents for architects, contractors, and building owners.
•Support electrical design for transportation-related facilities including transit stations, tunnels, ventilation, and traction/utility/emergency power systems.
•Assist in coordinating electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm and life-safety, and low-voltage systems.
•Plan and incorporate design requirements including equipment sizing, cabling, AC/DC panel design, and conduit strategies.
•Perform construction phase services by reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals, and coordinating with contractors and transportation agencies.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
•3 to 5 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer producing design deliverables for capital projects in building facilities and/or transportation
•Experience with electrical infrastructure planning and design and construction management for rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects
•Technical writing and proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, OpenBuildings, SKM/ETAP, and AGI
•Professional Engineer (PE) license; strong communication and problem-solving skills, including safe coordination with subcontractors
