Job Summary

Lead Dyson’s manufacturing test engineering efforts within the Manufacturing Technology Development organization, driving the architecture and deployment of manufacturing test systems from proof of principle through high-volume production. Collaborate across RDD, product design, manufacturing engineering, test suppliers, and contract manufacturers to define test plans, equipment specifications, qualification, and problem analysis. Standardize reusable test solutions, optimize cycle time and test limits using CpK/SPC, and coordinate 8D/RCCA remediations to improve product quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Derive manufacturing test system architectural design for proof of principle, engineering phase, and high-volume production.
•Develop and review manufacturing test plans, test equipment specifications, and test limits/CTQs in collaboration with product design and internal/external teams.
•Lead supplier RFP reviews and optimize test solutions for durability, performance, and cost-effective instrument integration.
•Drive continuous improvement by streamlining test scripts, optimizing cycle time, and using CpK/SPC to improve manufacturing test limits.
•Oversee technical execution with urgent focus on test and measurement issues, including 8D/RCCA updates and remediation collaboration.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical electronics/mechatronics with 15+ years’ experience in manufacturing test & measurement solutions.
•Ability to conduct failure analysis using 8D and strong understanding of PCB manufacturing for lithium-ion battery pack assembly.
•Good knowledge of failure analysis and troubleshooting, including safety matters for lithium-ion battery pack assemblies.
•Enable statistical process control (SPC) on tester data analysis and create standard operation/maintenance plans for transitioning test equipment to sustaining teams.
•Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience developing automated manufacturing processes/equipment from prototype to high-volume production.
